117h Invitation program of social welfare officials in Asian countries (April 2019)

Since 1978, our organization, the Foundation for the Welfare and Education of the Asian People, has been inviting the people engaged in social welfare works for orphans and fatherless families from various Asian countries to Japan for exchange views on the activities in this area and promote friendship and mutual understanding. Thus contributing to the development of the social welfare works.

From 10th to 17th of April, India, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, Viet Nam were invited to participate the study program. Seminars, visiting welfare concerned facilities, hand-on experiences of Japanese tradition such as tea ceremony and flower arrangement were conducted.

 

Followings are details of the study program.

Visit ReCross Hiroo, general social welfare center runs by Japanese Red Cross Society. One of the feature is a new unit-care type “special care nursing home”. Unit care provides in a setting where the living environment and daily lifestyle emulates
that of normal household.

Tour at Omron Kyoto Sun Industries, a joint venture between Omron and the social
welfare service cooperation. At the factory, many individuals with disabilities work
along with the able-bodied employees. The factory is all barrier-free.
