On June 8, 2020, Dr. Masahiro Fujiwara, the President of the FWEAP and Keiko Tanaka, Representative of RAFIQ (Coexistence Network with Refugees in Japan), signed a 325,000 yen financial assistance contract.
This will aid RAFIQ in providing food and daily necessities to refugees who are financially in need due to the spread of new corona infectious diseases.
With this financial support, rice, bread, preserved foods, etc. will be distributed free of charge to 30 people in 10 households, such as refugees in the Kansai region who were forced to cancel job hunting, or those who had to wait for their job with a reduced income. In addition, RAFIQ-operated facilities for applicants for refugee status will be equipped with masks, disinfectants, thermometers, and other corona infection prevention products.
