We have received a report along with the related photos from the RAFIQ, an organization centered on creating communities for refugees in the Kansai region of Japan. The RAFIQ has given support to refugee applicants in need in the Kansai region with the financial assistance provided by the FWEAP. The RAFIQ owns a shelter called the “OSAKA refugee house”, which is also used as a venue to teach courses on the plight of refugees to the public.
The total of 325,000 yen provided to the RAFIQ by the FWEAP has been used for the following support.
- Emergency food such as rice, bread, canned food, noodles, seasonings etc. is distributed to the 10 households (30 people) of refugee families in need in the Kansai region.
- The sanitary supplies such as, hand soap, masks, paper towels, thermometers, disinfectant, plastic gloves etc. are placed at the OSAKA refugee house.
