- In December 2019, our Foundation will celebrate its 50th anniversary and the 40th anniversary of our Refugee Assistance Headquarter (RHQ).

We will collect comprehensive information about the current state of refugees and their plight throughout Asia. Accordingly, we aim to accurately grasp the important issues and needs of the world, and to develop new projects.

In particular, our Foundation wants in some small way to provide a service for the fulfillment of a fair society, and to recognize our mission as a foundation for public interest. We will fully consider the impact our activities have on society and to people's lives, while closely coordinating with local communities and public administrations.

Visiting Asian Countries and Reviewing Their State of Affairs

Our President, Masahiro Fujiwara, visited several Asian countries and exchanged ideas with their key figures in order to explore possible future relationships with those who have achieved significant economic progress.
In order to build trust, he also sought a new direction for the Foundation's invitational program.
While retaining the vision of the Foundation’s original philosophy we strive to conceive of and promote fresh initiatives for the current age.

Investigating the Refugee Situation in Asia

We visited the Main Offices of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and in Canberra, Australia, to exchange ideas with their directors.
The purpose of these visits was to understand the refugee policies of each country and contribute to the formation of better settlement projects by our Foundation. We studied the systems of Australia as a nation of immigrants and the condition and status of Myanmar refugees in Thailand and Malaysia. (Photo: Meeting with the UNHCR director in Australia)

Exchange of Ideas with Foreign Ambassadors to Japan

We visited ambassadors of Asian countries to Japan and exchanged ideas in a constructive manner. Through top-level open dialogues, we tried to build effective personal relationships, and tried to understand the state of affairs in each country so that our Foundation can expand our operational presence in an appropriate and beneficial way.

Publication of Educational and Public Relations Magazines

We make an effort to publicize our Foundation’s activities by issuing three published reports annually. The report entitled “Love” is to inform the general public of our public interest activities and their effects on society.
The extra issue of “Love” is a report that focuses on the refugee problem and other Foundation policies in order to stimulate and deepen discussion on these issues. The comic booklet entitled, “The Refugees and Japan” is published to encourage the younger generation to understand the refugee problem.
