In Vietnam, March 10th of the lunar calendar is one of the most important holidays as a day to honor the achievements of the "Hung Kings," the founders of ancient dynasty of Vietnam.According to Vietnamese folklore, the first Hung King was a hero who founded the first Vietnamese dynasty called "Van Lang" State in 2879 B.C., and he was regarded as a symbol of the integration of Vietnam which is known as one of the  multi-ethnic nations.

The Vietnamese Association in Japan (VAJ) held a social event to celebrate this “ational Foundation Day” on Sunday the 9th of April 2023 at one  of  the meeting places in Ota-Ku, Tokyo.

The event began with a traditional Vietnamese ancestor worship ceremony and followed by a memorial ceremony in memory of Mr. Nguyen My Tuan (Taihei Minami), Vice President of VAJ who had devoted his life to the activities of this association and passed away in March this year.

At the memorial ceremony, both Secretary Generals, firstly SG of the Commission for the Solidarity with the Asian Underprivileged (CSA) and secondly SG of the Foundation for Welfare and Education of the Asian People (FWEAP), Mr. Jun-ichi Kawaue, were introduced as the guests of honor. Both of them made short remarks accordingly at the cerebration. After these ceremonies, a reception followed and a famous vocal band from Southern California, U.S.A. made chorus performance.
